Engineering Services
In-house engineers are available to review the design of
pressure vessels and tanks. We have the capabilities to design heat
exchangers through our B-JAC computer software program. We have saved
our customers countless dollars by ensuring that designs meet ASME
code standards or are built with the best available technologies.
Design of Refractory Installations
CHMCU can provide design services for refractory installations and
pre-cast shapes. Capabilities include heat flow calculations to minimize
heat loss and heat storage calculations to determine start-up costs.
Our abilities with material specification include nearly a century of
experience, backed by the ceramic engineers at
North American Refractories, Pryor-Giggey Refractories,
Premier Refractories (Vesuvius, USA), and National Refractories.

Shop Fabrication
We offer expert fabrication service at our facilities for tanks, pressure
vessels, and heat exchangers. These capabilities can significantly reduce
your downtime for field repair. Fabrication of ductwork, structural steel,
platforms, and ladders is also available.
Experienced Field Crews
Our field crews are experienced in erection and repair of power boilers,
marine boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, aluminum furnaces, and steel furnaces.
Much of our field crew is with us on a permanent basis, allowing us to build
crews with a solid teamwork approach for maximum productivity.
ASME Authorized Codes
We are authorized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to
use the following code stamps in our shop and field work:
- U - Section VIII
- S - Section I (Power Boilers)
- PP - Power Piping (ANSI B31.1)
We are also authorized by the National Board
of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors to
use the R stamp for code repairs in the Shop
or Field.
